Liz Prato's newest book is KIDS IN AMERICA: A GEN X RECKONING (SFWP). She is also the author of Volcanoes, Palm Trees, and Privilege: Essays on Hawai‘i (Overcup Press), a New York Times Top Summer Read and a Finalist for the Oregon Book Award, and the story collection Baby’s on Fire (Press 53). She also was editor for the story anthology The Night, and the Rain, and the River from Forest Avenue Press.
Liz's work has appeared in dozens of magazines and journals, and was included as notable selections in Best American Sports Writingand Best American Essays 2018.
Liz grew up in Denver, and now lives with her furry feline friends and her best friend/husband, who is a bookseller, musician, and writer in Portland, Oregon. She is the Editor at Large for Forest Avenue Press. She lives for small presses, indie bookstores, community, and palm trees.
